ABMTAX AI Chat Widget — Terms of Use
Last updated: March 4th, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ABMTAX AI Chat Widget (the “Widget”), including its AI chat feature and file upload feature. The Widget is operated by ABMTAX (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms apply only to the Widget and do not replace or override any terms applicable to the abmtax.ca website, the app.abmtax.ca (TaxAnywhere) web application, or the abmbooks.com platform.
By using the ABMTAX AI Chat Widget, you (“User”, “you”, “your”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Widget.
These Terms should be read together with the ABMTAX AI Chat Widget Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.
- Description of the Widget
The ABMTAX AI Chat Widget provides two features:
(a) AI Chat — You may type questions related to ABMTAX services, the TaxAnywhere platform, the ABMBOOKS platform, or Canadian tax topics. The Widget uses an artificial intelligence language model hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS Bedrock) to generate responses based on ABMTAX training data and general knowledge of Canadian tax law.
(b) File Upload — You may submit tax documents (such as T-slips, receipts, and other supporting materials) to the ABMTAX team through the Widget. Submitted files are emailed to ABMTAX staff, uploaded to your TaxAnywhere platform account (if one exists), and stored securely in AWS S3.
- AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The AI chat feature provides general tax information and guidance about ABMTAX services. It does NOT constitute professional tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or accounting advice.
AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. The AI assistant does not have access to your personal tax records, your CRA account, or any real-time government data. Responses are generated based on pre-loaded ABMTAX training materials and the AI model’s general knowledge of Canadian tax law as of its training date.
You should NOT rely solely on AI-generated responses to make tax filing decisions, financial decisions, or legal decisions. Always verify important information with a qualified tax professional, accountant, or directly with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
ABMTAX is not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in AI-generated responses, or for any actions taken or decisions made based on information provided by the AI assistant. By using the AI chat feature, you acknowledge and accept this limitation.
If you need personalized tax advice or assistance with your specific tax situation, please contact ABMTAX directly at info@abmtax.ca or +1 (204) 505-9696 to speak with a qualified tax professional.
- AI Transparency Disclosure
You are interacting with an automated AI assistant, not a human customer support representative. The Widget uses a large language model (LLM) hosted on AWS Bedrock to generate responses to your questions. No human reviews or approves individual AI responses before they are displayed to you.
When you send a chat message, the text of your question is transmitted to the AI model for processing. The AI model generates a response based on ABMTAX-specific training data and its general knowledge. For more details on what data is transmitted and how it is handled, please refer to the ABMTAX AI Chat Widget Privacy Policy.
- File Upload Terms
When you use the file upload feature, you agree to the following:
(a) Accuracy of Information — You are responsible for ensuring that the email address you provide is accurate and belongs to you. Files will be routed to the TaxAnywhere platform account associated with that email address. ABMTAX is not responsible for files sent to an incorrect account due to an incorrectly entered email address.
(b) File Restrictions — The Widget enforces the following limits on file uploads:
– Maximum 10 files per submission
– Maximum 25 MB total file size per submission
– Accepted file types: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, DOC, DOCX
Files that do not meet these requirements will be rejected.
(c) Processing of Uploaded Files — When you submit files through the Widget:
– The files are emailed to the ABMTAX team for review and processing.
– If your email address matches an existing TaxAnywhere platform account, the files are uploaded to that account.
– The files are stored in a private AWS S3 bucket for secure retention by ABMTAX.
– You will receive a confirmation email at the address you provided.
(d) Content Responsibility — You are solely responsible for the content of the files you upload. Do not upload files that contain malicious software, illegal content, or content that violates the rights of any third party.
(e) Consent to Processing — By submitting files, you consent to the processing, storage, and transmission of those files as described in these Terms and in the Privacy Policy, including the sending of a confirmation email to the address you provide.
- Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Widget only for lawful purposes related to ABMTAX services and Canadian tax matters. You agree NOT to:
(a) Use the Widget to seek assistance with illegal activities, including but not limited to tax fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, or any violation of Canadian tax law or any other applicable law;
(b) Attempt to extract, manipulate, or misuse the AI model’s underlying instructions, training data, or system prompts;
(c) Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through the chat or file upload features;
(d) Upload files containing viruses, malware, or any harmful code;
(e) Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to send excessive or abusive requests to the Widget;
(f) Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with any security features of the Widget, including file validation, message length limits, or origin verification;
(g) Use the Widget to harass, abuse, or threaten any person;
(h) Impersonate another person or entity when using the Widget.
ABMTAX reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to the Widget for any User who violates these Terms.
- Message and Input Limits
Chat messages are limited to 3,000 characters per message. Comments submitted with file uploads are limited to 3,000 characters. These limits are enforced on both the frontend and the backend. Messages exceeding these limits will be rejected.
- Availability and Service Interruptions
The Widget is provided on an “as available” basis. ABMTAX does not guarantee that the Widget will be available at all times or that it will operate without interruption or error.
The Widget may be temporarily unavailable due to:
– Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
– AWS service outages or disruptions
– Network connectivity issues
– Updates to the AI model, training data, or Widget software
ABMTAX will make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of the Widget but is not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by service interruptions or downtime.
- Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
(a) The Widget and all content generated by it are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
(b) ABMTAX does not warrant that AI-generated responses will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
(c) ABMTAX shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Widget, including but not limited to:
– Reliance on AI-generated tax information that is inaccurate or incomplete
– Errors or delays in the processing of uploaded files
– Loss of data or unauthorized access to data
– Service interruptions or downtime
(d) In no event shall ABMTAX’s total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Widget exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
(e) Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Canadian law.
- Intellectual Property
All content, design, software, and technology comprising the Widget — including but not limited to the chat interface, styling, JavaScript code, and backend logic — are the property of ABMTAX or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on any part of the Widget without prior written consent from ABMTAX.
AI-generated responses are provided for your personal informational use only. You may not reproduce, publish, or commercially exploit AI-generated content from the Widget.
- Privacy
Your use of the Widget is also governed by the ABMTAX AI Chat Widget Privacy Policy, which describes in detail:
– What information we collect and how we collect it
– How we use your information
– Where and how your data is stored (AWS DynamoDB, S3, RDS, and third-party services)
– Your rights under PIPEDA and applicable Canadian privacy law
– How to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information
More information about the Privacy Policy can be found here: https://abmtax.ca/privacy-policy/
By using the Widget, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Children
The Widget is intended for adults using ABMTAX tax preparation services. The Widget is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of majority in your province or territory). If you are under the applicable age, do not use the Widget. If we become aware that a child has used the Widget and provided personal information, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law.

The Widget relies on third-party services to operate, including:
– Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for AI model hosting (Bedrock), data storage (DynamoDB, S3, RDS), and infrastructure (EC2, CloudFront)
– Microsoft Office 365 — for transactional email delivery
– ABMTAX TaxAnywhere Platform — for routing uploaded documents to user accounts
These third-party services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. ABMTAX is not responsible for the actions, availability, or policies of third-party service providers.
- Changes to These Terms
ABMTAX may update these Terms of Use at any time. When we do so, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Widget after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
- Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Widget shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Manitoba, Canada.
- Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
